Quality assurance is no longer just a post-production check – in the meantime it’s a cornerstone of economic sustainability, as emphasised by Florian Schwarz, CEO of CAQ AG Factory Systems. The company offers software solutions for quality management and quality assurance, and provides support wherever product quality, safety and functionality are concerned. Florian Schwarz talks about the significance of quality assurance and the topics covered at Control 2027.

Schall: How important is the Control international trade fair for quality assurance for your company?

Florian Schwarz: Control is and will remain the world’s leading trade fair for everything to do with quality. For us, as providers of software solutions for strategic quality management and operational quality assurance, Control is our foremost trade fair in terms of public relations.

Schall: What do you like most about Control?

Florian Schwarz: It’s clear-cut focus on Quality. Whether quality is viewed from the standpoint of the production line or top management, Control remains firmly focused on the issues at hand. This kind of clarity makes the event equally valuable to exhibitors and expert visitors.

Schall: From your perspective, which topics and technological trends in quality assurance will dominate Control 2027?

Florian Schwarz: AI tools will once again be the centre of attention – to an ever greater extent as genuine decision-making tools in quality assurance, rather than just for basic assistance. In addition, open interfaces and API standards, SaaS models and the continuous evolution of standards and regulations will retain their importance as well.

Schall: What role do quality assurance and, by extension, the topics covered by Control play in ensuring the future viability and cost-effectiveness of industrial manufacturing?

Florian Schwarz: Whether sustainability, climate protection, the energy transition, e-mobility or automation is involved: practically none of today’s megatrends can be managed without the digitalisation of quality and production processes. This is a fact which is reflected directly in the growing global demand for digitalised quality management systems. Quality assurance is thus no longer just a post-production check – in the meantime it’s a cornerstone of economic sustainability.

Schall: As an accompaniment to the trade fair, the “Control Expert Days” took place for the first time this year. How would you rate this event format in terms of its benefits and efficiency for participants and expert visitors?

Florian Schwarz: From our point of view, the Control Expert Days are a valuable addition to traditional trade fair activities. As panel discussion participants, it was apparent to us just how interested the expert audience is in gaining a broader perspective that goes beyond a mere product showcase. It’s a format with real added value for exhibitors as well as visitors, which we’ll continue to support.
