KAPP NILES Metrology introduces the completely new developed analytical measuring machines KNM 2X, KNM 5X and KNM 9X for high-precision measurement of gearing, gear cutting tools and rotation-symmetric workpieces in the diameter range from 0 - 1.250 mm for the first time. This extends the product range of the manufacturer of the worldwide largest installed gear measuring machines within a complete series for mass producers as well as customers of frequently changing range of parts. All guides and the granite base plates are extremely long-term stable and have identical low expansion coefficients. Air bearings with emergency running characteristics guarantee perfect and wear-free guides without short-wave faults. Air spring system under the base plates shield shocks and vibrations safely, special foundations are not necessary. Ironless linear and torque motors of the rotary tables guarantee ultimate positional and path accuracy. Despite their compact design, generous traverse ranges guarantee a tangential generating motion to the base circle for each profile. Depending on the requirements, different scanning touch probes can be used. The highlights of the KNM 2/5/9X include the "Smart" tailstocks, which release an extended working area on the KNM 2X by motor-lowering into the base plate. The "Smart" tailstocks of the KNM 5/9X extend radially out of the machine centre to increase the working area. The use of the advanced "Smart" Quick-Change Clamping System allows the retrofitting of workpiece holders, lower centres and calibration balls within seconds and significantly reduces non-productive times. The freely positionable control cabinets offer optimum installation options even in confined spaces. Worldwide long-term testing, comprehensive evaluation software packages are available at the KNM 2/5/9X for direct access via touch screens.
