Production processes in the plastics industry are becoming more and more complex and place ever higher demands on quality assurance. Whether bottle, canister, cup, tank, barrel or box - an almost 100% quality inspection is required. In order to guarantee a continuous inspection of the wall thickness without affecting the container properties, only non-destructive testing methods can be used for the measurement. ElektroPhysik has revised the well-proven MiniTest FH wall thickness gauge and is launching its successor on the market with a completely new evaluation unit in combination with an extended range of sensors.

The magnetostatic measuring method used in the MiniTest FH device is particularly suitable for measuring the wall thickness of containers made of non-magnetic (non-ferritic) materials such as plastic, wood, glass, ceramics, GRP, CFRP or non-ferrous metals. Other hollow bodies such as pipes and car body parts or large-area components made of composite materials can also be measured without any problems.

The hand-held device in IP 65 design weighing only 800 g offers a special advantage with its user-friendly operation: the menu-driven user interface on the graphic display has a PC-like data storage system for convenient management of test tasks and measurement results. Data evaluation provides measured values, statistical data, histograms, trend diagrams and real-time diagrams.

A variety of connectable sensors are available for different measuring tasks, which take into account different measuring ranges and geometries of the measured object depending on the requirements.
